Spencer Manning, LMBT #9352
Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist
Spencer is a massage therapist with over 16 year’s experience and multiple modalities to ensure that he is able to help you shed those layers of tension. He began his massage therapy career in eastern NC and has worked with top spas, chiropractors, and energy healers across the state.
Over the years, his style has changed to meet the demand of his clients but he is best known for his deep-tissue skills paired with an intuitive and caring touch. Spencer strives to make his workspace comforting, welcoming and safe; after all, it is hard to relax if you aren’t comfortable.
Besides his love of massage, Spencer has a deep passion for pottery. As his main creative outlet, it allows him (along with his meditative and yoga practice) to stay grounded, centered, and in touch with the Earth. Pottery works very well with being a massage therapist as it allows him to continue honing his touch to search out those pesky knots. You may see him around the area at art shows selling his pots or maybe even teaching a beginners course in ceramics.

-
The main goal of Swedish massage is to calm the body and mind, and lightly release muscle tension. The massage therapist applies a combination of firm and lighter strokes to the muscles to relax the muscle tissues and increase blood flow to the heart.
-
Deep tissue massage is a fantastically rejuvenating massage technique typically used to alleviate aches and pains from exercise or musculoskeletal issues. Deep tissue massage benefits are wide ranging but include bringing relief from sports injuries, a sense of wellbeing and relaxation, increased circulations and reduced inflammation.
-
Sports massage uses various techniques to decrease muscle pain, speed up recovery, and improve overall range of motion and flexibility. It differs from a regular massage in that it addresses specific muscles or injury-related areas affected by the activity you’re doing while regular massage therapy focuses on general relaxation, stress management, and pain reduction.
-
Reflexology is a therapeutic foot treatment that uses precise pressure on reflex points in your feet, which correspond to various organs and systems throughout your body. The idea is that by stimulating those zones, a trained therapist can help your whole body release tension, support circulation, and find balance. In laymen’s terms, it is one hour spent specifically on your feet.
